I am a horrible blogger!

So I have been told!  LOL!  I have had lots of requests lately to give a bit of an update on the current status of my surrogacy.  Since the bleed I had been seeing the RE regularly.  I was in is office once per week to check on the status and to monitor the size of the bleed.  Things at this point with the babies were still going very well and the bleed was just hanging out in there with them.  At the end of March I began to start weaning off of the fertility meds.  By week 10 the placenta takes over to sustain the pregnancy, so the progesterone was no longer needed.  I weaned for about a week, and then I was done!  At that time I slowly began to feel human again!  I have never been so excited to stop taking meds!!!!  The shots were really starting to hurt since there were no spots left that had not been previously poked!

The First week of April was my first week off of the meds.  I also was released from my RE and able to see an OB now like any other regular pregnant patient.  I met with the nurse practitioner and got to know the staff in the office a bit!  They were great!  My bleed is slowly starting to absorb and hasn't caused any trouble what-so-ever!  We sure are lucky!!

I had my NT (nuchal translucency) or first trimester screening on Friday!  I was 13 weeks and feeling great.  We went in and got to watch the babies play around for about 30 minutes.  Baby A was a bit of a stinker and wouldn't position himself so the tech could get a proper reading.  She brought me a cold apple juice and gave me about 15 minutes to finish it.  We needed to sugar him up a bit to get him to move!  He was doing headstands and not cooperating still!  She had me stand up and jump a few times, then I had to finish the U/S on my side!  We finally got the reading!!  YAY!!  Baby B NT reading was 1.48 and Baby B was 1.78.  The genetic counselor mentioned prior that anything under 2.5-3 was ideal, so we were stoked to hear these numbers!!

Good News!!  The tech that did the scan has been doing them for over 20 years!  While scanning Baby B she immediately asked if we wanted to know the sex?  I had previously asked my IM and she stated that they really did want to know!!  Then the tech says, "this is definitely a girl!"  I have never heard those words at an U/S before!  I am stoked at the thought of being able to carry a girl for once!  Later, in the scan she got a glimpse of Baby A's goods and she believed that it was a boy!  She said that she was about 75% sure on Baby A!  I cant wait for a few more weeks to be more accurate!!

So all in all, we are doing fantastic!  I am feeling great since I am off the meds, and the morning sickness is almost not even worth mentioning!!  I am craving broccoli and fresh squeezed orange juice at this time and have not gained a single pound yet!  So hopefully that trend continues!  LOL!  I will try to update sooner than later next time!  Thanks for reading :)

Here is a little peak of the U/S video from Friday!!
